Celebrating Creativity and Community: Gratitude for the (R)Evolution of Me Program
As we reflect on the incredible journey of the (R)Evolution of Me art studio, our hearts are full of gratitude. This weekly art program, hosted by The Artful Life Counseling Center and Studio, has been a vibrant celebration of creativity, self-expression, and community. With the generous support of the City of Lynn Health Department and Girls Inc. of Boston and Lynn, through a youth prevention grant funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, this transformative experience has been made possible.

Dr. Krystal Demaine is a highly accomplished professional in the field of Expressive Therapies, with extensive experience and expertise in utilizing the arts for healing and personal transformation. As a Board-Certified Music Therapist, Registered Expressive Arts Therapist, and Registered Yoga Teacher, Dr. Demaine has dedicated her career to helping individuals tap into their creative potential for healing and growth.

“We're thrilled to announce our collaboration with The Artful Life Counseling Center and Studio, a local mental health group dedicated to fostering creativity. The Artful Life offers workshops and personalized counseling, enhancing our community's well-being. Every Tuesday, they join us at YouthBuild, granting our young participants access to invaluable mental health services. These sessions also equip our youth with essential life skills, empowering them to effectively manage their emotions. This month, counselors Al and Veneeta focused on honing communication skills. Through engaging group activities, they've been helping our young people forge stronger connections, both with themselves and others.

Laura is a licensed mental health counselor in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, a national certified counselor, a board certified art therapist, as well as a certified school counselor and art teacher. Laura has nine years experience applying the arts as a therapeutic modality and offer meaningful creative experiences that foster strengths, empowerment, expression beyond words, and healing.
