A first session with me involves getting to know each other using art and movement, whatever the client is comfortable with. I'll share some things about me, you'll share some things about you. We can also discuss treatment goals further than at intake.

Some of my favorite approaches include using mindfulness and other DBT skills. I try to incorporate creativity into all approaches.

I was born on the exact midpoint of the year. Also, I am a sculptor, and particularly love sculpting foxes and cats out of clay.
I work with people across the lifespan as they manage their mental health and wellness. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, stress management, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and interpersonal relationships using art, play, and body based techniques to find healing. I take a person-centered approach, utilizing a client's preferences as a guide in treatment.
In a new client intake, I first like to get to know each other through sharing the drawing prompt "three things about me". I then allow the client to choose the direction of the session. It takes time to build a therapeutic relationship and I appreciate that.
As a client-centered expressive arts therapist, I draw upon the evidence-based fields of Expressive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Mindfulness, and Somatic Therapy to offer my clients avenues for healing. Building the relationship is a key component of therapy and I work to develop a strong rapport from day 1.
