The Artful Life is growing and needs someone like you to help support our clinical team while maintaining two thriving locations in Salem and Beverly. The Clinical Director is a newly created position working closely with the Co-Owners of this innovative and nurturing practice specializing in expressive arts therapies and trauma-informed care. Professional development is very important to us. If you have the drive to help others in the mental health field do their best work, and possess innate leadership skills, we will support you with our expertise as successful business owners to develop into this position. In addition to working closely with the Co-Owners, the Clinical Director will join a seasoned and supportive Leadership and Administrative Team. POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Director will be responsible for overseeing and developing the clinical staff and provide clinical consultation as needed in collaboration with the Leadership Team. In addition, the Clinical Director will support clinicians’ caseload goals and promote a positive work culture to support a high level of clinical and employee engagement. The Director will demonstrate a positive, supportive approach towards ALC, its employees and its clients. This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position requiring 20+ administrative hours of work per week, and carrying a small caseload of clients (to be determined). This is not a remote position. The Clinical Director will work on site at both our Salem and Beverly locations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
● Understand and follow all policies and procedures of ALC as a Clinical Director and a clinician.
Meet with clinical staff as needed to support their caseload goals, provide documentation support, provide clinical assistance and conduct a weekly team in collaboration with the Leadership Team.
Carry a small caseload of clients, and be committed to your own clinical as well as leadership development.
● Meet with the Leadership Team regarding processes and/or procedures, including proposed changes, clinical issues and successes.
● Work with Co-Owners to:
conduct regular clinical staff check-ins and caseload reviews
oversee in-house professional development opportunities for staff
recruit, interview and on-board new clinicians and graduate interns
improve client experience to ensure client satisfaction
support overall employee satisfaction and retention
● Identify areas where clinicians need improvement in performance, and work collaboratively with the HR Manager and Co-Owners on clinician performance issues.
● Gain proficiency in all ALC systems.
● Become competent in HIPAA compliance and ALC Workforce Security.
● Other Clinical Director related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
● Align with ALC mission, vision, and values.
● Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
● Independently Licensed in Massachusetts as an LICSW, LMHC or LMFT.
● Minimum of three (3-5) years post graduate experience as a full time clinician performing mental health counseling.
Knowledge of expressive arts therapies preferred.
● Experience with crisis management and intervention.
● Demonstrate a passion for working with others (being collaborative) and helping our team members grow and learn.
● Prior experience in a supervisory/leadership role preferred.
● Ability to manage well the dual roles of manager and clinical supervisor.
● Have strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
● Be punctual, have high attention to detail and be able to prioritize various projects independently.
● Demonstrate the ability to handle and provide straight-forward feedback to leadership and clinical team members.
● Note: Preference will be given to candidates with the most post-licensure
counseling experience as well as the most years of supervision experience
Physical Requirements
● Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an hour at a time
● Must be able to climb a flight of stairs
● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
● Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between two locations
(Salem and Beverly)

GROUP PRACTICE CLINICIAN P/T - minimum of 15 clients/week (schedule 18 clients)
F/T minimum of 22 clients/week (schedule 25 clients)

JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are looking for experienced, warm, creative and motivated licensed and provisionally licensed therapists to join our team. The Artful Life is a workplace where like-minded therapists are supported, validated and given overall professional satisfaction. We boast a fun, collaborative and positive-minded group of clinicians and each of our therapists brings a unique specialty to our practice. This is a W2 employee position and paid on a fee-for-service basis.

Align with The Artful Life mission, vision, and values.
Minimum of 1 year post-graduate experience.
Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in counseling or social work;
Licensed or license eligible in the State of Massachusetts AND within 6-12 months of obtaining licensure.
Available to schedule and hold at least 15 client sessions per week, through The Artful Life.
Background in expressive arts therapy, or be willing to learn and grow in this area (we provide training!).
Be organized and detail oriented.
Ability to conduct some sessions via tele-health (or be willing to learn!).
Be a team player.
Be able to work independently on tasks assigned.
Have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred but not required
Prior experience in a private practice setting.
At least three years’ experience post-unrestricted licensure.
Have at least one niche market for counseling and/or expressive arts therapies services (i.e., children, teens, trauma, anxiety, grief, art therapy, play therapy, etc.).
Current approval as an in-network provider with BCBS or other insurance.
