You can expect a first session with me to be flexible, curious, and conversational. I try to find a balance of structure and space for arriving in the therapeutic space together . We will likely discuss your goals for therapy, any questions you may have for me, and spend time getting to know each other. In our first session, I hope to begin to see a picture of where you are, where you’ve been, and where you want to be. I typically explain the intermodal nature of expressive arts therapy and how we can form our creative work together to fit your individual needs, preferences, and strengths. As this session marks the beginning of our journey together, intention-setting and having fun is an important part of my practice, and laughs, tears, and everything in between are accepted in this space.

I practice a strengths-based, holistic, and person-centered approach to therapy, one which honors the multifaceted nature of individual experience. I aim to hold space for preference and choice with my clients in a safe supportive environment. I believe that therapy is an interpersonal and psycho-dynamic relationship founded on practices of communication, feedback, and empowerment. Some techniques I often utilize in my sessions are re-framing negative beliefs (cognitive behavioral therapy), resource-gathering (trauma-informed therapy), and mindfulness strategies (dialectical behavioral therapy). I have clinical experience working in residential and outpatient settings, and have found that honoring resiliency and our innate human capacity to heal is at the forefront of my work and training.

My favorite fact is that the average person has 60,000 thoughts per day! Our minds and imaginations are incredibly powerful.
I’m a pre-licensed clinician and expressive arts therapist. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University. I have clinical experience working in residential and outpatient settings with individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds. At the core of my practice are principles of resiliency and the innate human capacity to heal.
I use a variety of arts-based modalities in my work, including visual arts, music, movement, writing, and drama. My clinical focus areas include trauma, mood disorders, eating disorders, ADHD, and autism. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, playing piano, and spending time in nature.
