For a first session I like to start as I would, entering any new relationship- by getting to know one another. I leave the space open for you to discuss what you think is most important for me to know as a foundation and I'll ask questions about your interests and hobbies. I also like to leave space for any questions you may have about me as your therapist and person you will be building a relationship with.

I am a relationship first therapist with the strong belief that if you don't feel connected and safe during session, you aren't going to get the most you can out of therapy. I was lucky enough to have worked adjunctively with dance/movement theories in my studies, allowing me to dive into somatic work within emotional processing. I am passionate about inclusion of mind and body in session, as well as spirit for those it resonates with. I incorporate psychoanalysis, somatic witnessing, and CBT within the creative process to promote holistic means of gaining insight.

I am a huge ABBA fan!
I’m Ashley Breton (she/they), an Artist and Creative Arts Therapist. I’m licensed in New York State and currently working as a pre-licensed professional in Massachusetts.
I began my professional journey as a BFA Photography student at Parsons the New School for Design, where I explored the relationship between trust, vulnerability, and witnessing through portraiture. This path led me to pursue an MPS in Creative Arts Therapy & Creativity Development at Pratt Institute, where I developed a deep connection with incorporating somatic witnessing through Mindfulness-Based practices.
In my sessions, I integrate somatic attention into emotional processing and create space for mind, body, and spirit within the creative process to encourage multidimensional self-insight. I practice from a trauma-informed perspective and specialize in working with depression, anxiety, sexual trauma, disordered eating, and existential/identity and race concerns.
