I like integrating attachment theory in treatment. I believe that attachment theory allows insights about clients basic emotional needs and their ability to form bonds. Difficulties to trust and to form bonds are often markers of childhood adversity and adults mental health problems. Exploring the potential causes of current problems can help clients on their path towards healing.

I am a Scuba Diver. I have over a dozen different certifications and over one hundred logged dives. I have dived in several places around the Caribbean, US West Coast, and also in South America. (I have not yet been convinced that diving around New England or any other cold places can be fun.)
I’m Ewerton, a licensed independent clinician (LMHC) with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from William James College, earned in 2018, and an undergraduate degree from Boston University, which I completed in 2014. I’ve also pursued additional training in various areas, including Domestic Violence, In-Home Therapy, Adolescent Development, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for Trauma Themes, TF-CBT, Childhood Trauma, and Hypnosis. Additionally, I’m a 200-CYT Certified Yoga Teacher.
I work with clients across all age groups—children, adolescents, adults, and elders—tailoring my approach to meet their diverse needs. My goal is to collaborate with clients to enhance their sense of agency, self-efficacy, and personal growth. I focus on person-centered approaches to build a trustful atmosphere in our sessions and facilitate healing. My experience includes working with attachment issues, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and victims of crime. I provide therapy in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
