  • During the first session I am trying to get to know you and understand your therapeutic needs. I share about my background as a therapist and my approach to therapy. You may leave with a new coping skill or we may spend the entire session talking. It is usually a structured session, however, I like to listen and follow the client’s lead.

  • I have an eclectic style and will pull from various tools to meet my client’s needs. I have a person centered approach and often incorporate art and mindfulness into my sessions. I am Level 1 EMDR trained and often combine this with art and IFS/parts therapy. I am also a yoga therapist and will offer breath work, movement and meditation when appropriate.

  • I am trying to learn to play the drums.

I'm Danielle Jacobs, MA, an Expressive Arts Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, and 200-RYT Certified Yoga Instructor. I’ve been a yoga instructor for thirteen years and earned my Master’s degree in Counseling with an Emphasis in Expressive Arts from William James College. I’ve found yoga, mindfulness, journaling, and art to be profoundly healing forms of expression. My goal is to share these skills and guide others into a safe space where they can explore, heal, and grow.

I work with people of all ages, but I’m particularly passionate about working with young children, teens, and college-aged clients. My approach is person-centered, incorporating verbal therapy, CBT, mindfulness, expressive arts, and yoga therapy. I have experience with addiction, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, attachment issues, and adjustment disorders. Additionally, I’ve trained as a Reiki master, Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor, and in Yoga for Addiction and for those recovering from cancer.
