  • Our first session will primarily be about us getting to know one another! Also, we will have time to talk and begin to understand some of the why's behind what led you to The Artful Life! While I will have some questions, I recognize that this is also a time and opportunity for you or your child to get to know me, and ask any questions that you may have, as well. Typically when we first meet, I want you to feel at ease, comfortable, and able to relax in a safe and therapeutic environment. We can also take some time to discuss interests and needs, as well as tour the art studio and answer any questions or curiosities about art materials and other expressive art options available. I hope you will feel encouraged to reach out and set up an appointment if this seems like an opportunity you would like to explore!

  • My practice focuses on supporting my clients to manage anxiety, low-frustration tolerance, mood/emotional dysregulation and interpersonal issues. I use techniques stemming from CBT, DBT, Compassionate Inquiry, a strengths/relational approach, expressive arts and play therapy, I strive to match the needs and energy that each client is looking for in counseling. My goal for us is to create a safe & empathic space, build a clearer understanding of current difficulties, reduce distress, & improve symptom management for clients and their families. I will strive to help you and your family achieve an increased life balance, find resolution as well as an overall improved quality of life.

  • I'm left-handed and I fully embrace it!!

I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) and earned my Master’s in Social Work from Salem State University in 2009, after completing my undergraduate degree at Boston University in 2004. Since then, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. With a background in visual arts, I enjoy incorporating a combination of approaches in my practice, including expressive art therapies, along with other techniques and mediums that best meet the needs of each individual client.

In my clinical work, I am committed to supporting individuals from a person-centered mindset. Having worked with people from diverse settings, I understand the profound impact that one’s environment, past experiences, and current circumstances can have on their present life. I work collaboratively with my clients to explore ways to understand, manage, and improve their current symptoms and feelings while carefully unpacking their story and history in a way that aligns with their needs.

I utilize expressive art therapy techniques, sensory integration exploration, play therapy, as well as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and narrative therapy approaches. I strive to help children, teens, and adults build and grow their sense of self, fostering an improved understanding and sense of control over their own lives. I specialize in play therapy and sensory integration, and I frequently work with clients dealing with anxiety-related issues, attachment challenges, and family systems dynamics. I am also certified in Trauma-Focused CBT.
