Breanna Washburn, MA Staff Clinician, Art Therapist

I attended Lesley University, graduating with a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling with a specialty in Art Therapy in 2020. I take a holistic and person-centered approach to meet each individual where they are at in order to best support their needs. No two people have the exact same life experience, and each of our experiences are valid. It is my job not to guide you to a golden answer or easy fix to whatever it is that you’re struggling with, but to walk alongside and explore with you with an open and accepting mind. It is important in this work to grow a therapeutic relationship in order to increase a self of safety, trust, and find moments to laugh together so that the difficult emotions are easier to successfully work through.

I am passionate about working with teens and adults, particularly those who identify as part of the LGTBQ+ community, have experienced trauma, foster care, and those that experience psychosomatic symptoms. I have worked with many people in settings such as residential programs, schools (both public and alternative), in-home therapy, and outpatient therapy. I use a variety of techniques, primarily including Art therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Theory, some Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
