Women’s History Month: Local Spotlight, Dr. Krystal Demaine, Ph.D.

Dr. Krystal Demaine is a highly accomplished professional in the field of Expressive Therapies, with extensive experience and expertise in utilizing the arts for healing and personal transformation. As a Board-Certified Music Therapist, Registered Expressive Arts Therapist, and Registered Yoga Teacher, Dr. Demaine has dedicated her career to helping individuals tap into their creative potential for healing and growth.

With advanced training in Neurologic Music Therapy, Performance Wellness, Integrative Medicine for Mental Health, and Trauma Sensitive HeartMath, Dr. Demaine brings a holistic approach to her therapeutic practice. Her certification as a Trauma and Resilience Specialist in Clinical Application (CTRS-C) further underscores her commitment to helping individuals navigate and overcome trauma.

Dr. Demaine not only brings her expertise to her private practice but also as a dedicated professor at Endicott College, where she teaches Art Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy. She also contributes to the growth and development of the field by coordinating the biennial Endicott College Expressive Therapies Symposium.

As an active member of professional organizations such as the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) and the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA), Dr. Demaine stays at the forefront of advancements in the field.
