Alicia Casey, LICSW

Alicia is a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) who received her Master’s in Social Work from Salem State University in 2009 and her undergraduate degree from Boston University in 2004. After receiving her degree, she has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings.  Holding a visual arts undergraduate degree, Alicia continues to enjoy implementing a combination of approaches in her practice, including expressive art therapies, in addition to other techniques and mediums that best meet the needs of the individual client.

Clinically, Alicia is committed to supporting the individual from a person/client centered mindset.  Having worked with individuals from a wide range of settings, she is aware of the impact that one’s environment as well as past and current circumstances can play in a client’s present life, and works to both explore ways to understand, manage and improve current symptoms and feelings, as well as carefully explore and unpack a client’s story and history as it pertains to the individual’s needs.  Alicia uses expressive art therapy techniques, sensory integration exploration, play therapy, as well as TF-CBT, DBT, and narrative therapy approaches in her work with children, teens, and adults.  Alicia works with individual clients to help build and grow their sense of self and help clients to foster an improved understanding and sense of control over their own life. Alicia specializes in play therapy, sensory integration, as well as often works with clients with anxiety related issues, attachment issues, and family systems work. She is certified in Trauma-Focused CBT.
